Marin Catholic sophomore Samantha Wallenstrom won the girls 800-meter state title in a personal-best 2:08.78 at Buchanan High's Veterans Memorial Stadium. After Max Glasser became the first athlete in Marin Catholic history to capture a state crown last year in the boys 400, Wallenstrom followed as the program's first girls state champion in any event.
